POKÉDEX & TOKENS

Pokédex rewards, the shiny dex, Tokens and the PokéBuilder.

Updated

Your Pokédex pays out as it fills up: rewards for catch milestones, for completing each region and the whole dex, and for a separate shiny dex. Many of those rewards include Tokens, the currency you spend in the PokéBuilder to change a Pokémon's stats and traits. Everything on this page works the same on the Pixelmon and Cobblemon servers unless it says otherwise.

OPENING THE POKÉDEX

Open it with /pokedex or /dex. The dex is split into the nine regions from Kanto to Paldea. Caught counts come from your mod's own Pokédex, so Pokémon you caught before you first opened it already count.

CLAIMING REWARDS

Rewards are not handed out automatically. When you unlock one, a chat message tells you, and you claim it from the rewards page of the dex or with /pokedex rewards. When more than one reward is waiting, a Claim All button takes them all at once.

The Pokédex rewards page with the 10 and 50 catch milestones claimed, the 151 milestone ready to claim, a Claim All button, and the rewards each step pays out.

CATCH MILESTONES

  • 10 caught · 2 Great Keys.
  • 50 caught · 100 Tokens and 2 Ultra Keys.
  • 151 caught · $3,300, 2 Master Keys and a 15 minute Egg Hatch Booster (1.5x).

REGION COMPLETION

Each of the nine regions pays out at 25%, 50%, 75% and 100% caught, with the same rewards for every region:

  • 25% · 2 Great Keys.
  • 50% · 100 Tokens and a Master Ball.
  • 75% · $5,000, 2 Ultra Keys and a 30 minute EV Gain Booster (1.5x).
  • 100% · 200 Tokens, $8,300, a Shiny Key and a 30 minute Hidden Ability Booster (2x).

FULL POKÉDEX COMPLETION

The full dex counts every species from all nine regions. It has rewards at 10%, 20%, 25%, 30%, 40%, 50%, 60%, 70%, 75%, 80% and 90%, then a final reward for catching every species. The steps give a mix of Tokens, money, crate keys, Master Balls and boosters.

  • Tokens · 100 at 20%, 150 at 30%, 200 at 50%, 250 at 70%, 300 at 80% and 500 at 100%.
  • 100% reward · $166,700, 500 Tokens, 2 Shiny Keys and a 45 minute Hidden Ability Booster (2.5x). On Cobblemon it also gives 12 DNA Splicers and a Fusion Key; on Pixelmon it also gives 2 Master Keys, a Legend Key and an Anomaly Key.

THE SHINY DEX

The shiny dex tracks which species you have owned a shiny of, across the whole dex. It pays out at the same steps as the full dex, from 10% up to a complete shiny dex at 100%. A species counts when you:

  • Catch a shiny · any shiny you catch in the wild.
  • Evolve a shiny · the species it evolves into counts too.
  • Get a shiny in a trade · see dex charges below.
  • Tokens · 150 at 20%, 200 at 30%, 250 at 50%, 300 at 70%, 400 at 80% and 750 at 100%.
  • 100% reward · $333,300, 750 Tokens, 5 Master Balls, a Shiny Legend Key and a 1 hour Hidden Ability Booster (3x). On Cobblemon it also gives 12 DNA Splicers and 2 Fusion Keys; on Pixelmon it also gives a Master Key, a Legend Key and an Anomaly Key.

DEX CHARGES AND TRADES

A Pokémon you receive in a /trade counts toward your dex, which is how a traded shiny fills a slot in your shiny dex. So that one shiny cannot fill everyone's shiny dex as it gets passed around, every Pokémon has 3 dex charges, and each trade spends one, shiny or not. At zero the Pokémon still trades normally, but it no longer counts toward anyone's dex, and the player receiving it gets a message saying so. Pokémon you catch yourself never use a charge.

TOKENS

Tokens are a separate currency from money, used in the PokéBuilder. /bal shows your Tokens next to your money. Ways to earn them:

  • Tokens kit · 10 Tokens every 24 hours from /kit.
  • Pokédex rewards · the milestones and completion rewards above.
  • Skill level rewards · 50 to 250 Tokens at each reward level of every skill.
  • Quests · many quest rewards include Tokens.
  • Daily activities · Rival Ring streak milestones, Poké Hunt bounties, Bingo lines and surge rewards.
  • Battle Tower shop · 400 Tokens for 750 Battle Points (see gyms and the Battle Tower).
  • Crates · some crate prizes are Tokens.

THE POKÉBUILDER

Open it with /pokebuilder, pick a Pokémon from your party, then pick what to change. Every change is paid in Tokens. Eggs cannot be edited, and Ditto cannot be edited at all.

The PokéBuilder editing a level 78 Garchomp, with a card for each change (shiny, nature, level, growth, gender, EVs, IVs, Poké Ball and Original Trainer) and its price in Tokens.
  • Shiny · 8,000 Tokens to make a Pokémon shiny, or to remove its shine.
  • Nature · 400 Tokens.
  • Level · 20 Tokens for +1, 100 for +5, 200 for +10 or 500 for +25, up to level 100.
  • Growth · 60 Tokens to change its size.
  • Gender · 250 Tokens, for species that can be more than one gender.
  • EVs · 1 Token per EV point, added 1, 5, 10 or 25 at a time, up to 252 in a stat and 510 in total.
  • IVs · raising a stat costs 460 Tokens for +1, 2,380 for +5, 4,960 for +10 or 13,900 for +25, up to 31. Lowering costs 80 for -1, 400 for -5, 800 for -10 or 2,000 for -25, down to 0.
  • Poké Ball · 20 Tokens to move it into a different ball, picked from a list of 23 balls.
  • Original Trainer · 500 Tokens to make yourself its Original Trainer.

LEGENDARY AND RARE POKÉMON COST MORE

Every PokéBuilder price is multiplied for rarer species: 4x for legendary and mythical Pokémon, and 2.5x for Ultra Beasts. Making a legendary shiny costs 32,000 Tokens, for example. The menu always shows the final price for the Pokémon you picked.

TIPRegion rewards and full-dex rewards count the same catches, so finishing a region also moves you toward the full-dex steps. Check /pokedex rewards after a long catching session, since unlocked rewards wait until you claim them.
